To understand the company today, it is necessary to know its origins. The founder of Sesderma is Dr. Gabriel Serrano, a prestigious dermatologist, researcher, and entrepreneur born in Colombia. Dr. Serrano always had a keen interest in caring for people: his grandfather ran a pharmacy in Bucaramanga (Colombia) and his father was a family doctor. Medicine was, therefore, the most beautiful of professions in his family. It is understandable that Gabriel Serrano dreamed at a very young age of following the family tradition of helping people.

When he was just 19 years old, he moved to Spain to study medicine, and later specialized in dermatology, obtaining his doctorate Cum Laude from the University of Valencia. During his years as a resident at the General Hospital of Valencia, he discovered the shortages and difficult access to quality dermatological products to treat the various pathologies of his patients.

The ability to offer personalized dermo-cosmetic care with the highest quality standards motivated the creation of Sesderma.

This concern for helping, caring for and improving the skin of all people is still valid today. That is why Sesderma includes in its portfolio products for the care of the most complex and specific needs (Vitises, Moluvir, Atopises, Primuvit, etc.).

Currently, Dr Gabriel Serrano is dedicated to the international expansion of Sesderma, present in more than 80 countries. In addition, whenever he is in Valencia, he continues to consult in his dermatological clinic, which demonstrates his true passion for his work and attention to his patients.

GABRIEL SERRANO SANMIGUEL. The story of my life.

I come from a family of doctors: my grandfather had a pharmacy in Bucaramanga, Colombia, where I was born; my father was a family doctor and obstetrician-gynaecologist in Bucaramanga and Barranquilla, and later trained as a surgeon in Atlanta, United States. Four of my six siblings work in the health field in the United States and Spain; several cousins also, in different parts of the world. Of my six children, four study and work in health-related subjects, and one of my granddaughters told me that she wants to study medicine. For me, as for my ancestors and descendants, medicine is the most noble and beautiful profession in the world, not only because it allows us to cure, but also because it consists of serving and helping other people.
